I have been a professional food writer for more than 20 years. Here is where you will find some of my work in that field.
I served as The Des Moines Register's chief food critic from 1997 to 2012, and wrote over 750 reviews for this paper. Currently, I cover the Des Moines dining scene for dsm Magazine, a lifestyle magazine in Des Moines. Check out my most recent review, or click on the button below to read current articles I've written for dsm.
I am the author of the book, The Bonne Femme Cookbook: Simple, Splendid Food That French Every Day (Harvard Common Press). In this book, I combined my expertise as a cookbook editor and food writer with my knowledge of easy, everyday French cooking gleaned through 20 years of extended summer stays in France.
Since 1994, I have served as an editor and/or feature writer on numerous cookbooks, magazines, and websites, many of them within the Better Homes and Gardens family of publications. You'll find some of my work on bhg.com (here's an example). I also write a French cooking and lifestyle blog at chezbonnefemme.com.
