TOMORROW, FEBRUARY 2: Groundhog Day Celebration at High Life Lounge

Straight from a press release sent to me by my friends at the High Life Lounge:

Des Moines’ Only Groundhog Day Celebration Tradition Continues on February 2nd

13th Annual Celebration Will Feature a Mini Parade, Band and Polk County Paula’s Annual Prediction

January 31, 2017 (Des Moines, IA) The High Life Lounge will celebrate its thirteenth anniversary on Groundhog Day - Thursday, February 2 with a party starting at 6 a.m., a day Des Moines' most fun residents love to hit repeat on every year.

Polk County Paula, downtown Des Moines’ beloved resident groundhog, will take her throne on the Iowa Beverage System parade at 7:25 am*. Watch her make her grand entrance before she looks for her shadow shortly after daybreak at 7:30 am.  Free Miller High Life will be given to those in attendance beginning at 6 am and breakfast will be available for purchase until 11 am.

“We look forward to this celebration each year and enjoy seeing great friends, old and new, out to support our anniversary celebration” said High Life Lounge co-owner, Jeff Bruning. “This year we are focusing on how lucky we are for a thirteenth year in this great city, with a community who has supported us and our wacky ideas. As a thank you, come share a cold one on us at 6 am.”
